   La biologie de synthèse est l'ingénierie rationnelle de la biologie. Son but est de concevoir de nouveaux systèmes inspirés par la biologie ou fondés sur ses composants. Elle fait aussi progresser les connaissances sur le monde vivant.
     Elle représente un domaine techno-scientifique en développement rapide depuis 2004, et un futur poids lourd économique, y compris dans le domaine agronomique.
     Elle est susceptible de changer totalement notre approche de certaines technologies-clés, ouvrant ainsi la voie à une nouvelle génération de produits, d'industries et de marchés construits sur nos capacités à manipuler la matière au niveau moléculaire.

Abstract :

     Synthetic biology is the rational engineering of biology. Its goal is to design new systems inspired by biology or based on its components. It also advances our knowledge of the living world.
     It represents a techno-scientific field that has been developing rapidly since 2004 and is a future economic powerhouse, including in the agricultural sector.
     It has the potential to completely change our approach to certain key technologies, paving the way for a new generation of products, industries, and markets built on our ability to manipulate matter at the molecular level.
