     Au XIXe siècle et au début du XXe siècle, l'espace cultivé dans le monde a beaucoup progressé permettant de nourrir une population mondiale plus nombreuse.
     Dans la seconde moitié du XXe siècle, la formidable augmentation des rendements agricoles a opportunément pris le relais.
     Enfin la mondialisation a étendu à tous les pays l'accès aux produits agricoles, aussi bien pour les vendre que pour les acquérir.

     In the second half of the 20th century, the dramatic increase in agricultural yields conveniently took over.
     Finally, globalization extended access to agricultural products to all countries, both for buying and selling them.
